The trading day commenced with technology shares exerting downward pressure on market indices following a post-midterms rally. Weakness in chip and data center equities caused the Nasdaq Composite and the S&P 500 to open in negative territory. However, the Dow Jones Industrial Average bucked the declining trend by adding over 330 points at the opening bell.
