The Supreme Court's ruling restricts the bursting of green firecrackers in Delhi-NCR strictly to November 7 and 8 within designated morning and evening windows. To shield vulnerable populations from toxic emissions and noise, fireworks are entirely forbidden within a 300-metre radius of health centres, old-age homes, and silence zones. Starting November 9, a total prohibition on all fireworks will be enforced across the region. These directives resolve arguments raised in a suo motu pollution matter and a related plea seeking to ban firecracker production.

Severe weather losses and rising input costs are driving agricultural landowners to diversify their acreage with renewable energy infrastructure. By locking in predictable, long-term lease payments, operators can insulate their family businesses from volatile crop markets and water scarcity while easing generational transitions. This trend reflects a broader utility-scale push to satisfy soaring regional power demands through expansive rural developments.
Atmospheric models indicate an unusually early disruption to the Northern Hemisphere's stratospheric circulation, typically a driver of winter weather patterns. While any potential surge of cold Arctic air across northern Europe would take weeks to materialize, southern regions face immediate hazards from an active Mediterranean storm system. Forecasters are closely monitoring the polar atmosphere for rare, rapid warming events that could influence late-season temperatures.
Flaring wildfires in Indonesia have renewed scrutiny over the environmental integrity of corporate offsets linked to conservation lands. Because blazes risk releasing stored carbon back into the atmosphere, independent evaluators must assess the damage before determining if historical emissions savings were reversed. These assessments determine whether future credit generation must shrink or if compensatory reserves must be tapped.
