In short

The rankings place legacy characters alongside modern creations, evaluating their origins and historical community context. Java's classic agent Duke shares the lowest designated bracket with a protest mascot spawned from a contentious 2023 Rust trademark dispute. Meanwhile, eccentric designs from Lisp and Zig occupy the middle tier ahead of top-performing symbols. In the upper tiers, PHP's ElePHPant leads the A category, ranking above the standard mascot for Rust.
