Major construction ongoing near Iran missile bases, satellite images suggest

In short

British intelligence firm MAIAR identified major building projects at the Garmdareh base in Karaj and the Shahroud base in northern Iran, alongside repairs at a dozen other military locations. Workers have installed new roofs at the damaged Kermanshah missile base and reinforced an underground bunker at the Parchin military complex. Additionally, ongoing digging near tunnel entrances close to the Fordo uranium enrichment site indicates broad fortification of sensitive assets. These visible developments contradict claims by United States officials that recent military strikes degraded up to 90% of Iran's industrial defense capacity.

At least 12 other military sites, including missile complexes and air bases, appear to show signs of repairs. New roofs have been built on destroyed buildings at the Kermanshah missile base in western Iran, near the border with Iraq, while damaged buildings and debris have been cleared at the Parchin military complex - which has been repeatedly repaired despite a succession of air strikes - east of the capital.

The excavations near Shahroud could potentially be related to the production of missiles, said Jim Lamson, a former CIA analyst who focused on Iran. He said that because the nearby…
