IREN tops quarterly revenue estimates, delays some Microsoft AI infrastructure deliveries

By · Published by Everything Blog

In short

IREN surpassed fiscal estimates on the back of rapid revenue acceleration in its specialized AI cloud operations, which jumped significantly compared to the prior three-month period. Delivery dates for certain specialized infrastructure were postponed after Microsoft requested network design revisions, though the company confirmed it faces no financial penalties. The timeline shift delays the achievement of IREN's targeted $4 billion annualized revenue run-rate into January or potentially late February. The changes coincide with broader moves by Microsoft to review neocloud partnerships and curb project risk while prioritizing its own internal data center builds.

The disclosure comes as the Windows maker tightens oversight of data-center projects run by the so-called "neocloud" firms including IREN, Nebius and Nscale amid delays and rising costs, Bloomberg News reported earlier in the day.

Microsoft is stepping away from projects it considers risky and weighing whether to sign new deals with such providers as it focuses more heavily on expanding its own data centers, according to the…
