Govt takes over Delhi Air Force Sports Complex

By · Published by Everything Blog

In short

The Land and Development Office, functioning under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, spearheaded the possession of the site that houses a golf course, swimming pool, and eateries. Official records from a 2014 submission revealed that only 52.80 acres of the 126.948 acres used by the Air Force were legally transferred, leaving the complex situated on ministry property. The sudden shutdown disrupted a planned "golfing out" farewell for Air Chief Marshal A P Singh, who serves as the patron-in-chief. This repossession reflects a broader strategy prioritizing high-security recreational zones for state-directed, public-interest development.
