In short

Recruits will initially complete a four-year engagement featuring foundational training, a base stipend, and Seva Nidhi benefits before facing a comprehensive performance review. While the top 25 percent secure immediate regular employment, the remaining personnel can opt for a two-year Tier 2 engagement with higher pay and cumulative seniority. Upon finishing these additional two years, all eligible cohort members who meet the military's selection criteria will be offered full enrolment as regular soldiers. The decision was prompted by favourable evaluations of the scheme's opening four years, specifically noting strong physical fitness and technological competence among participants.
