Yemeni Foreign Minister Afrah al-Zouba demanded full accountability after United Nations human rights employee Mohammed Ibrahim al-Shami died in Houthi custody. Al-Shami had been forcibly disappeared following his abduction in June 2024, during which his family was blocked from any communication. Zouba stressed that this incident reflects previous in-custody deaths of aid personnel from Save the Children and the World Food Programme. She urged the UN Security Council to intervene and mandate an independent probe with direct access to medical files.
