Western Australian police charged the Perth woman with aggravated stalking with intent to intimidate and demanding property by written threats. The court proceedings emerge amid internal political fallout over a three-page letter sent to party leadership alleging inappropriate behavior by the senator between 2017 and 2025. Steele-John issued an extensive 2,400-word statement strongly rejecting all claims outlined in that document. His office confirmed he will offer no additional commentary regarding the ongoing police prosecution.

A 40-year-old woman has been arrested and charged by Western Australian police for allegedly stalking and attempting to extort the Greens senator Jordon Steele-John.
WA police said on Wednesday detectives from the family violence investigation squad charged the Perth woman with one count of aggravated stalking with intent to intimidate and one count of demanding property by written threats, commonly known as extortion.
WA police will allege the woman is a former partner of Steele-John.
The woman is due to appear in a Perth magistrates court on Thursday morning.
A spokesperson for Steele-John said: “The senator won’t be commenting on this investigation further at this time.”

In a 2,400-word statement following a report by the Nine newspapers, Steele-John denied all the allegations made against him in the letter.

The United Nations concluded first-round judicial elections that will place a Singaporean jurist on the International Court of Justice for a nine-year term starting in 2027. This decisive diplomatic outcome expands female and regional representation on a bench historically dominated by male judges. Democrats capitalized on surging fuel prices triggered by Tehran's maritime retaliation to capture both congressional chambers. Despite the severe political backlash and an intact Iranian regime, the administration continues to defend the initial intervention.

A staggering financial effort failed to translate into widespread electoral success, raising major questions about the return on investment for high-profile individual political contributions. The sweeping losses demonstrate clear limits to what personal wealth can accomplish in nationwide elections.
