In short

Prithvi Shaw scored a brisk 53 not out from 50 deliveries to deliver Maharashtra a 10-wicket victory against Bengal in their Ranji Trophy fixture. The opener relished the challenge of batting against experienced pace bowler Mohammed Shami during the Elite Group ‘C’ match. Looking ahead, Shaw intends to prioritize consistent domestic form, proper training, and sound nutrition over anxieties regarding an India recall. His campaign this season includes two half-centuries across seven innings, with a high score of 70 against Delhi.

The 26-year-old last played for India five years ago and would definitely look to make a return to the national side. “There is always that thought at the back of the mind. But now I do not think so much ahead,” he explained.
