In short

West Ham United decided to dismiss the 52-year-old manager after winning just two of their last six matches, a slump capped by back-to-back home losses against Southampton and West Bromwich Albion. Sitting eighth in the Championship and six points behind league leaders Middlesbrough, the board determined an immediate adjustment was required to safeguard the club's promotion ambitions. Alongside the manager, assistant head coach Rui Pedro Silva and goalkeeper coach Rui Barbosa have also departed the club. Mark Noble, Steve Potts, and Gerard Prenderville will now oversee squad preparations ahead of Wednesday's clash with Cardiff City.

Assistant head coach Rui Pedro Silva and goalkeeper coach Rui Barbosa have also left the club.

Mark Noble, Steve Potts and Gerard Prenderville will take temporary charge of the side for their Championship trip to Cardiff City on Wednesday night.

"Following a thorough review of the start to the EFL Championship season, the board of directors believe that a change is necessary at this time in order to ensure that the club's objectives and expectations remain on track," a West Ham United statement read.
