In short

The White House meeting will convene Ukrainian human rights ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets alongside Russian officials Kirill Dmitriev and Yana Lantratova. This diplomatic session follows prior consultations involving Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and United States envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. The discussions build directly upon Melania Trump's independent push that previously halted combat in Russian-occupied Oleshky, allowing crucial demining and civilian evacuations. The engagement precedes an upcoming summit in Abu Dhabi, marking the first trilateral discussions between all three sides since February.

Ukraine's human rights ombudsman, Dmytro Lubinets, announced he would also be meeting Melania Trump in Washington.
