The administration gathered cabinet members and officials in the East Room for an election night reception as polls finalized across the country. Ahead of the event, the president published three Truth Social messages targeting Fox News, alleging the network suffered a 27 percent ratings drop due to disloyalty and calling one host dumb. Democratic candidates entered the evening with strong polling positions to possibly take both congressional chambers. In response to expected challenges, the president signaled plans to block opposition bills via his executive powers.

Washington: President Donald Trump lashed out at conservative channel Fox News on Tuesday in a sign of early frustration as he watched the US midterm election results at the White House.
The 80-year-old posted three angry messages on his Truth Social network about Fox, blaming its recent ratings decline on not being sufficiently loyal to him.
In one post sent as the first polls closed, Trump said Fox was "way down, not because of me, but because they are AGAINST me!"
In another post Trump blasted one host as "DUMB AS A ROCK", and in a third he slammed a Fox poll of voters opinions as "always the worst."
"FoxNews Ratings are way down (27%!) because they're spending too much time covering the Trump Deranged Dumocrats!" Trump added.
The midterm elections will determine whether Republicans keep control of Congress and will shape the rest of Trump's second term.
His rageposting came shortly before he hosted an "election night viewing reception" for cabinet members and administration officials in the East Room of the White House.
The victory marks a significant pickup for Democrats in North Carolina following a turbulent campaign season for the opposing party. State legislator Balkcom stepped in as the replacement candidate after incumbent Chuck Edwards abruptly suspended his campaign late in the summer. Edwards exited the race after being censured by the House for workplace misconduct.
The victory marks a historic milestone as Pia Dandiya becomes the first Indian-American elected to the US House of Representatives from Florida and the tenth nationwide. Defeating Republican Casey Askar, the Democratic former educator flipped a freshly redrawn seat stretching across four southern Florida counties. Her win contributes to critical Democratic efforts to shift the balance of power during President Donald Trump's midterm legislative cycle.
The victory marks a historic milestone as Illinois voters chose a Democrat for a third gubernatorial term for the first time in state history. The billionaire Hyatt Hotel heir successfully fended off a repeat challenge from his previous opponent. With this unprecedented win, the governor is increasingly positioned as a potential White House contender for the 2028 presidential cycle.
