In short

The three-city benefit run concluded at London’s OVO Arena Wembley following initial sold-out dates in Dublin and Paris. In addition to music, the stages hosted prominent international voices, including climate activist Greta Thunberg and Irish singer Hozier, who addressed humanitarian issues such as delayed visas for students from Gaza. Macklemore explained to the audience that staying silent about the crisis had become impossible, using his platform to urge immediate political action. Proceeds from the tour will aid groups including Medical Aid for Palestinians and Jewish Voice for Peace.

Bringing together some of the biggest names in music and activism, Macklemore finished his three-date Free Palestine tour with a sold-out London performance, mobilising people and garnering support around Palestine.

The US rapper’s final performance took place at OVO Arena Wembley on Friday, 30 October and featured a host of popular artists, including Paloma Faith and Nemahsis alongside climate activist Greta Thunberg and Palestinian campaigner Arab Barghouti, son of detained Palestinian leader Marwan Barghouti.

The concerts in Dublin, Paris and London all sold out soon after tickets went on sale, according to reports and Macklemore’s own announcement.

The tour was organised after Macklemore was dropped from the remaining shows on Ed Sheeran’s US Loop tour in September after he called for a "Free Palestine" during his show in New Jersey.

Macklemore told the audience that remaining silent about the war on Gaza had become more uncomfortable than speaking out.
