Arshdeep Singh had a special reason to break into a dance after taking a wicket against New Zealand in the first ODI. The Indian pacer revealed that his unique on-field celebration was dedicated to his girlfriend, actor-model Samreen Kaur. The gesture, he explained, was inspired by dance steps the couple share to lift each other's spirits.

Speaking during the innings interval on Sony Sports, Arshdeep opened up about the personal meaning behind the celebration.

"That's for my girlfriend. We do these dance steps when we're out walking or something like that. Whenever the mood is a little low, we cheer each other up with that celebration. So this was for her," he said.

Arshdeep shines with four-wicket haul

The celebration came after Arshdeep dismissed New Zealand all-rounder Kyle Jamieson, who was caught by Virat Kohli. The left-arm pacer finished with figures of 4/70 in his 10 overs, leading India's bowling attack.

Arshdeep's performance helped India bowl New Zealand out for 185 in 40.2 overs at Eden Park. Gurnoor Brar claimed three wickets, while Anshul Kamboj picked up two.
