In short

Governor-elect Gina Hinojosa campaigned on halting the sector's rapid spread and granting local communities greater control over upcoming facilities. The regulatory backlash follows prior grid restrictions, including an August move that blocked new grid connections while operator ERCOT monitored over 400 gigawatts in proposed projects.
