NEW DELHI: While accusing Rahul Gandhi of disrespecting institutions, finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman asked the LoP to debate with PM Narendra Modi in Parliament.

"Just yesterday, home minister Amit Shah offered a special session to debate SIR and EVMs. Why not show the same enthusiasm for a debate in Parliament that you show while issuing challenges on social media? Demanding answers also carries an obligation to hear them," Sitharaman posted on social media.

She added that Rahul should bring specific allegations and evidence instead of raising " frivolous issues". She said on several occasions in the past, Congress had walked out of Parliament while govt was responding to allegations. "How do you claim to be so eager for a debate when you don't even stay to hear the other side?" she said.
