Tango Therapeutics and Revolution Medicines report a 82% tumor response rate in patients with advanced pancreatic cancer following a combination therapy regimen, which includes an experimental drug from Tango and Rasonque. This regimen, free from chemotherapy, led to 88% of patients remaining free of tumor progression at nine months, supporting the theory of combining targeted drugs for better outcomes in pancreatic cancer. MADRID — The combination of an experimental drug from Tango Therapeutics and Revolution Medicines’ Rasonque led to tumor responses in 82% of patients with a certain type of advanced pancreatic cancer, clinical trial results reported Friday showed.
The responses were also durable: 88% of the patients were still alive without tumor progression when assessed at nine months.
The new data bolster the theory that patients with pancreatic cancer can derive more benefit from combinations of targeted drugs than single drugs. The Tango regimen is also notable for the absence of chemotherapy, long considered a standard treatment for the aggressive cancer.

The Dead Sea, a landlocked lake at the lowest point on Earth, is experiencing significant environmental changes, with its water level receding by approximately 4 feet annually and its surface area shrinking by about a third over the past five decades. The lake is now leaving behind a new landscape of salt-encrusted shorelines and sinkholes, and its water levels have dropped by more than 90% since the 1970s. The shrinking Dead Sea is also causing the river to carry only 100 million cubic meters of water annually co…
