In short

The sudden rise in crude oil prices prompted markets to price in extended Federal Reserve tightening, with CME's FedWatch tool showing a 75% probability of a December rate hike. Consequently, December silver futures fell by ₹8,528 to ₹1,75,251 per kg, expanding year-to-date losses to 25%, while gold declined by nearly ₹2,079 to ₹1,37,863 per 10 grams. In addition to geopolitical worries, the World Gold Council halved its annual gold investment growth forecast to 200 metric tonnes due to sluggish retail appetite for bars and coins. Ahead of the U.S. midterm elections and a new jobs report, technical analysts expect both assets to test deeper support zones.

Gold prices also retreated after the previous session's gains, with the yellow metal falling nearly ₹2,079 per 10 grams to ₹1,37,863. After posting losses for two consecutive months, both precious metals have started November on a volatile note.
