The Madras High Court instructed the Thanjavur District Collector to remove the E V Ramasamy statue from the Arulmigu Brahmasirakandeeswarar Temple at Kandiyur and place it in a suitable alternative site within four weeks. The ruling addressed a writ petition filed by Rama Ravikumar, who acted on recommendations from the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department. Official status reports confirmed the rationalist monument stood on temple property without necessary prior approvals from competent authorities or temple management. The court directed the administration to file a compliance report once the relocation process concludes.
