Indian political consultancies have exported digital manipulation tactics to influence democratic races across the United States, Africa, and South America. In the United States, researchers uncovered networks of India-based accounts coordinating social media messaging around Michigan's Democratic Senate primary. These operations circumvent platform rules on Meta, Google, and X by using rented, repurposed, or newly generated shadow profiles. By deploying these covert networks, firms broadcast controversial materials and edited candidate speeches that formal campaign organizations deliberately avoid sharing.

New Delhi, India — In an unfurnished flat in a nondescript Ahmedabad neighbourhood in western India, a 22-year-old digital content creator worked through the nights, designing posters and editing videos for a presidential campaign thousands of kilometres away — William Ruto’s 2022 bid for the presidency in Kenya.

For content, Kumar said he would trim opposing leaders’ speeches or interviews to twist their statements, or create posters with false claims amplifying Ruto’s prospects and popularity ahead of the election.
“If there’s a woman politician, we simply link her to someone to damage her reputation. It’s one of the easiest ways to discredit,” Kumar told Al Jazeera, adding that “all controversial content”…
Military operations by Saudi forces have struck the Ras Issa facility, which serves as a vital hub for importing and storing oil. Historical voting patterns since World War II demonstrate that modern administrations almost uniformly struggle to retain legislative power during mid-cycle votes. When voters hand control to the opposition party, the resulting majorities can halt presidential legislation, reject federal judicial nominees, or initiate impeachment inquiries. With the balance of power narrowly contested, tiny seat shifts dictate legislative authority and executive oversight.
