The recent unrest prompted police to make arrests for alleged offences involving assault, possession of fireworks, and possession of offensive weapons. Social media footage captured crowds gathering as fireworks were launched directly toward police officers and their vehicles. Chief Superintendent Tom Boyce reiterated that the misuse of fireworks is illegal and carries severe consequences, including criminal charges and fines. The enforcement effort follows last year's Bonfire Night disorder on 6 November 2025, which saw 21 arrests after attacks on Staniforth Street and Dale End.
