In short

The transaction closed at $3.827 million, falling significantly under the property's initial $6.99 million asking price after a prior deal fell through in December. Built in 1937, the four-bedroom Colonial-style home spans roughly 5,000 square feet and features distinctive details like an attic gym, cherubs along the staircase, and curved French doors. Listing agents Rachelle Rosten and Kelly deLaat confirmed the buyer aims to restore the tiered 0.56-acre estate rather than tear it down.

The Sunset Strip estate in Los Angeles, where fitness guru Richard Simmons lived for decades, has sold for $3.827 million, a TMZ report confirmed. The Hollywood Hills estate, which features a Colonial-style home, initially asked $6.99 million. The new owner plans to restore the home, listing agents Rachelle Rosten and Kelly deLaat of Douglas Elliman told the outlet. The buyer has not been publicly identified.

The property first went on the market in June 2025 with an asking price of $6.99 million, Realtor.com reported. This was about a year after Simmons died. The house drew interest; however, none of it resulted in a deal. An earlier sale went into escrow at $5.889 million but fell apart in December. The seller cut the price to $5.799 million, and another buyer signed a contract in May. The final price came in nearly $2 million below that reduced asking price.
