Massive trading activity surrounding Tuesday's midterm elections yielded strong predictive results for wagering platforms as over $1.48 billion was staked on the races. These real-money contract exchanges are cementing their influence after successfully projecting key Senate races in Texas and Ohio. Polymarket reportedly secured an accuracy rate of around 98% across the board during the voting cycle. Prediction markets rose to prominence as they diverged from traditional opinion polls by signaling a Trump victory in 2024, and analysts were scrutinizing their performance this week.
