Police to escort fire crews in latest crackdown on Bonfire Night disorder

In short

Scotland's major public order mobilization includes up to 1,700 officers, supported by mutual aid drivers and public order vehicles supplied by 18 police forces across England and Wales. Concurrently, authorities have expanded Fireworks Control Zones from 12 to 18 areas to legally prohibit discharging fireworks in identified hotspots. Although related calls slightly dropped over Halloween, emergency officials insist this unprecedented defensive posture is essential to keep responders safe.
