Denmark, Norway, and Sweden have unified behind Finland to refuse competition against Russia at next May's 2027 ice hockey World Championship. The boycott directly challenges a CAS ruling that upheld an appeal by the Russian Ice Hockey Federation to overturn a ban in place since February 2022. The International Ice Hockey Federation also opposes the ruling, noting that official schedules and draws were finalized prior to the court's intervention. Norway confirmed it still plans to participate in its remaining group stage fixtures.
