In short

Public healthcare institutions will absorb the largest portion of the new capacity, easing admission pressures for aspiring specialists starting in the 2026-27 academic year. However, geographic distribution remains heavily skewed, with southern and western regions dominating the available clinical training slots. This targeted expansion provides a substantial boost to the country's advanced medical workforce pipeline. According to the National Medical Commission, deemed universities secured the smallest allocation, receiving just 1,262 of the newly approved seats.
