Sweden's Andreas Almgren won his 26.2-mile debut by pulling away in the final mile, while Kenya's Sheila Chepkirui clinched her second event title with a decisive surge in the last 150 meters. The men's division saw unprecedented depth, with the top seven finishers all registering times among the ten fastest ever recorded on the course. Kamohelo Mofolo of Lesotho was third, edging out defending champion Benson Kipruto.
