Mexican television presenter Ines Gomez Mont, who once made headlines for asking NFL legend Tom Brady to marry her, has been arrested in Miami after spending nearly five years outside Mexico amid a massive fraud investigation. The 43-year-old was detained by US authorities on October 30, 2026, in connection with allegations of organised crime, money laundering and tax fraud.

According to Mexican news agency reports and Mexico's Attorney General's Office (FGR), Gomez Mont is accused of being part of an alleged criminal network that siphoned public money through a series of bogus companies and fraudulent invoices. Her lawyer husband, Victor Manuel Alvarez Puga, is also accused of being involved in the operation, which investigators estimate involved around 2.95 billion pesos, or approximately £120 million.

The former television host was reportedly taken into custody in Miami, Florida, where she was photographed being escorted by police officers in handcuffs. She is currently in US custody, pending immigration proceedings and any formal extradition process to Mexico.
