Meta acquires AI coding startup Conductor

By · Via TechCrunch · Published by Everything Blog

In short

The acquired platform enables software engineers to deploy teams of artificial intelligence agents across compartmentalized workspaces using outside models from labs like OpenAI and Anthropic. Conductor's core features will continue to operate until early next year, although its cloud service will permanently shut down on November 20 followed by user data deletion. The purchase fits into a wider corporate push that previously saw the release of the Muse Code agent and the purchase of the viral platform Moltbook. Meta confirmed the deal to TechCrunch but declined to disclose the specific financial terms of the transaction.

On X, Holtz also noted that he was looking forward to working with Alexandr Wang, Meta’s chief AI officer, and Nat Friedman, head of product at the company’s Superintelligence Labs. “They’ve been on an absolute tear, and I’m convinced MSL has the highest talent density of all the labs,” he added.

Meta confirmed the acquisition to TechCrunch but wouldn’t comment further or provide additional details about the deal.
