The automated system navigates environments using onboard cameras and ultrasonic sensors, successfully categorizing waste into biodegradable and non-biodegradable bins. It operates both autonomously and through a dedicated mobile application, featuring strong obstacle avoidance capabilities. Following trial runs in Delhi educational spaces, the robot has been adopted by housing societies in Noida and local authorities in Udaipur. Looking ahead, future designs will expand the sorting mechanism to handle five distinct waste categories while integrating solar power.

A school trip to Delhi's Sundar Nursery in 2023 left 17-year-old Mahi Malhani thinking about something beyond the park's gardens and restored monuments. She noticed plastic wrappers, bottles and food waste scattered on the ground, sometimes just a few steps away from dustbins. The sight raised a question to her. Why was litter still lying around when bins were readily available?
Rather than seeing it only as a problem of public behaviour, the Delhi student began thinking about how technology could make waste disposal easier. That question eventually led her to develop TRASHbot, an artificial intelligence-powered robot designed to detect, collect and sort waste. According to the official website of Take Care International Foundation, the robot can sort waste with nearly 90% accuracy and is now being tested in homes, schools and residential communities.
Mahi's idea was based on a simple observation. Having dustbins nearby does not necessarily mean people will use them. She wanted to create something that could make responsible disposal more convenient.

A rogue software add-on masquerading as an official Anthropic integration was live on the developer platform's store for about eleven hours before detection. The compromised tool attempted to exfiltrate host data and open remote access pathways on target devices. Platform administrators have neutralized the threat by overhauling the marketplace after determining the full extent of developer exposure.
The strategic partnership builds on a collaborative framework established in April 2025 to commercialize driverless technology at a global scale. Equipping production-ready electric vehicles at an established domestic assembly plant allows both companies to validate platform performance before scaling internationally. The alliance targets key right-hand-drive territories initially to refine operational expertise ahead of entering broader foreign markets.
The international alliance builds upon an initial exploratory pact established 18 months ago to expand autonomous commercial fleets into key right-hand drive territories. By manufacturing factory-integrated autonomous vehicles, the companies are positioning themselves to address both commercial ride-hailing demand and future consumer automotive markets. This collaboration aims to leverage real-world fleet data to improve broader roadway safety and traffic infrastructure.
