Lindsay Clancy is back in court - where will her case go next?

In short

Lindsay Clancy's initial murder trial concluded without a verdict after jurors could not agree on whether she acted intentionally or suffered from severe postpartum psychosis. In response, defense attorney Kevin Reddington is pursuing double jeopardy arguments to dismiss the charges, while prosecutors push to impanel a new jury. Judge William Sullivan will evaluate these opposing motions and explore scheduling for a potential second trial. If the case does move forward, Reddington indicated he would not be prepared for a retrial until at least June 2027.

Prosecutors could also reduce the charges in a potential second trial or dismiss them altogether.

Clancy's first trial ended in a mistrial after a 12-person jury failed to reach a consensus.

The 36-year-old has not denied killing her children in 2023, but her defence team argues she was suffering from severe postpartum psychosis at the time. Prosecutors say the killings were intentional.
