In short

The scaled-down event generated £223 million in gross economic activity across Scotland, including £158.6 million concentrated in the Glasgow City Region. Staging expenses totaled £160 million, funded through the Commonwealth Games Federation and compensation from Victoria, Australia, after the state pulled out of hosting duties in 2023. This lean expenditure marked a steep drop from the £944 million spent on the 2022 Birmingham Games. Organizers believe this successful delivery validates a permanent reset for the quadrennial competition ahead of Ahmedabad, India, hosting in 2030.
