My top 10 things to watch Tuesday, Oct. 27 1. We're on pace for a higher open this morning. Looking to build off yesterday's strong day as the artificial intelligence trade got some of its mojo back. Oil prices and the 10-year Treasury yield are slightly lower this morning, which helps. 2. Broadcom has finalized $63 billion in financing to help Anthropic buy its AI chips and networking gear. Bank of America, Citigroup, Morgan Stanley, and Blackstone are all involved. Broadcom CEO Hock Tan said: "Fundamentally, the need for AI compute continues to grow at an extraordinary pace. This validates that there is capital available to finance such growth and that Broadcom is uniquely positioned to enable it." Broadcom is providing some financial guarantees from losses. 3. Meta Platforms increased the size of its Class A secondary stock offering to $25 billion from $22.5 billion, so there was demand. Priced at $625 a share. The stock fell 1.9% yesterday on the equity-raise news to $630.56. Back in June, Alphabet priced its secondary at $355.20 , and shares closed yesterday at $316.80. Bullish as I am long-term on AI, a flood of new stock supply remains a risk for the market. Both are Club names. 4. Nvidia said it is investing $3 billion in Meta's equity offering. Also announced a deeper partnership with the Instagram parent on Muse to optimize inference and training performance. Meta will expand its use of Nvidia hardware, including Vera Rubin racks and networking equipment. This collaboration may get lost in the shuffle, but it might be significant. 5. Celestica is soaring more than 12% after the maker of server racks and other data center technology reported a big earnings beat and issued 2027 guidance for profits and sales way ahead of expectations. Google and Meta are key customers. "We continue to pursue investment plans in support of anticipated multi-year growth, supported by 2028 customer demand forecasts that are meaningfully higher than our 2027 revenue outlook," the company said in its earnings release . 6. Corning , another data center supplier, delivered a modest beat on third-quarter revenue and earnings. Shares are flat. The business is really doing well as demand for fiber optic cables soars thanks to AI. We used to own it for the Club, but exited on Sept. 1 (at higher levels) to protect big gains and lower our AI exposure. 7. Mixed quarter for Club name Boeing . Loss of 34 cents per share was wider than expected, but revenue and free cash flow topped expectations. At this point in CEO Kelly Ortberg's turnaround, cash flow is the key metric. Making progress stabilizing 737 Max production at 47 a month. Nice beats on the defense and services business too. Though shares are slightly lower premarket, this is a conference call stock. 8. Coca-Cola beat on earnings and revenue, with organic sales up 7%. Also raised its full-year earnings growth outlook to at least 11% year over year (from 9% to 10% previously). Coke Zero is on fire, growing 16% for the second quarter in a row. International stronger than North America. Shares are off almost 1%. 9. UPS beat on quarterly revenue and earnings per share. The package delivery giant raised full-year guidance, which beat expectations. Also increased adjusted free cash flow target to $6.1 billion. UPS shares are up 2%. Club names FedEx and FedEx Freight report earnings tomorrow evening and Thursday evening, respectively. 10. Whirlpool is disappointing on every front. Quarterly revenue was light. Operating income was a big miss. Full-year guidance was lowered. Housing is relentlessly bad, which makes it tough for a maker of major appliances. Whirlpool brands include the company's namesake, as well as KitchenAid, Maytag, and JennAir. Shares are down 7%.
