Abhishek Sharma has reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the ICC T20I batting rankings, overtaking India teammate

Marco Jansen has become the top-ranked Test bowler and Test all-rounder for the first time in his career.

Jansen's rise to the top in two categories follows his performance in South Africa's comprehensive victory over Australia in the second Test in Gqeberha. The left-arm pacer scored 85 runs with the bat and took a match-turning five-wicket haul in Australia's first innings.

The performance helped Jansen improve his position across all three Test ranking categories. The 26-year-old climbed 13 places to 56th among Test batters, moved up five spots to overtake Mitchell Starc as the No. 1 Test bowler and rose one place to displace India's Ravindra Jadeja as the top-ranked Test all-rounder.

Jadeja had held the No. 1 position among Test all-rounders for more than four years. Jansen's rise to the top comes after former South Africa great Dale Steyn recently described him as 'the best cricketer in the world'.

Abhishek's return to the top of the T20I batting rankings came after his century against New Zealand in the third match of their series in Wellington on Tuesday.

The left-hander reached his hundred in just 35 balls and finished with 113 off 38 deliveries as India registered a six-wicket victory to seal the series.

His innings helped him overtake Kishan and reclaim the No. 1 position among T20I batters.

Kishan had moved to the top of the rankings in July this year after a series of good performances in Ireland. Abhishek had first reached the No. 1 spot in July 2025, when he overtook Australia's Travis Head.

Several other players also moved up in the latest ICC rankings. South Africa captain Temba Bavuma climbed four places to second among Test batters after being named Player of the Match for his performance against Australia in the second Test.

India captain Shubman Gill remains the top-ranked ODI batter, with Virat Kohli in third place and Rohit Sharma at No. 4.
