Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei says Washington will continue its confrontation with Tehran despite the Democrats’ sweeping midterm victories.

In a message carried by state news agency IRNA, he rejected suggestions that “factional shifts” would “dissuade it from its hostility towards the Iranian nation”.

He said Washington seeks the “unconditional surrender of the Iranian nation”.

Referring to the US-Israeli war on Iran, Khamenei said the US had “suffered an irreversible decline” after a “self-made scandal”, adding that “the process of its collapse has accelerated”.
