In short

The hosts overcame a top-order wobble to reach 331 for seven with nine deliveries remaining, sealing a three-wicket victory in Lahore. Fakhar Zaman drove the chase with 127 runs after enduring a poor run of form during the group stage. Middle-order contributions were crucial, including a 149-run partnership between Zaman and Saad Baig, followed by a 94-run stand between Arafat Minhas and Hasan Nawaz. Kamindu Mendis' earlier effort of 131 runs for Sri Lanka was not enough to prevent the record-equalling result.

Pakistan finished at 331 for seven in 48.3 overs, with nine balls to spare. It was a special victory for the hosts, who also equalled India's famous record for the highest successful chase in an ODI final.
