In short

The coordinated mission is operating under a temporary ceasefire that began with bus convoys on Friday and is scheduled to conclude on Sunday. Evacuees landing in Gomel were received by emergency crews, medical personnel, and Red Cross volunteers prior to their final transfer to Ukraine. Roughly 2,000 residents were offered relocation paths to either Ukraine or Russia, while some opted to remain behind with incoming aid. U.S. First Lady Melania Trump estimated the convoy effort could safely relocate more than 750 individuals.
