In short

An anonymous Houthi military official stated via group media that Aramco facilities remain within operational strike range, cautioning that commercial investments there carry heavy risks. The official additionally advised foreign airlines to avoid Saudi Arabian airspace, though air corridors over the holy cities of Mecca and Medina were explicitly exempted. These declarations come as the Houthis battle the coalition defending Yemen's internationally recognized government, alongside Iranian warnings to Israel and the United States against restarting strikes.

Houthis repeat threats against Saudi oil giant, aviation

1 November 2026 16:28 GMT

Houthi media, citing an anonymous military official, on Sunday repeated threats against Saudi oil giant Aramco and aviation in the kingdom.

Yemen's Houthis, fighting a Saudi-led coalition backing the internationally recognised government, are allies of Iran, which on Sunday warned the US and Israel not to renew strikes on the Islamic Republic after they had threatened a return to war.

"Aramco facilities are within range of the Yemeni Armed Forces, and investments in them are a venture fraught with losses," the Houthis' Saba news agency quoted the military official as saying.

The official also warned international airlines against using Saudi airspace "except for the airspaces of Mecca and Medina".
