Following the departure of troops, local Palestinian security forces are currently working to secure neighborhoods so displaced families can safely re-enter their properties. The strict lockdown had been enforced after two Palestinian attackers killed two Israeli soldiers before being shot dead by military forces. Over the ten-day period, troops commandeered private residences as military posts, demolished 15 homes and structures, and severely damaged municipal infrastructure. Governor Khaled Dudin confirmed that the prolonged closure heavily disrupted education and caused significant harm to local businesses.
