In short

Kagiso Rabada struck immediate blows by removing two Australian batsmen in the opening over of their 288-run chase, sending the tourists tumbling to 62 for eight. Spinner Simon Harmer then ran through the remainder of the lineup to finish with career-best innings figures of 6-16. Although Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon resisted for 17.2 overs, Harmer trapped Cummins leg-before and bowled Josh Hazlewood to seal the match. This combined bowling effort ensured South Africa reclaimed the number one test ranking in world cricket.
