Alphabet's Google is collaborating with Related Digital, American Electric Power, and energy partners to develop its first Wyoming site, utilizing fuel cells supplied by Bloom Energy. The project highlights tech companies' aggressive push for dedicated power sources amid an intensifying national backlash against facility expansions. Recent election results showed voters rejecting 40 out of 41 local ballot measures related to data centers. These rising political headwinds have already prompted Microsoft to curb an agreement in Texas, triggering broader market sell-offs across the sector.
