In short

A group of twelve former administration officials who stepped down between late 2023 and 2024 published a joint statement demanding that potential 2028 presidential nominees formally renounce previous Gaza policies. They voiced concern that key decision-makers are actively attempting to rehabilitate their reputations to secure future political appointments. To counter this, the group outlined three accountability pledges, which align with ongoing criticism from progressive lawmakers such as Representative Rashida Tlaib and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
