In short

The court heard a recorded interview detailing Stephen Crean's intervention during the November 1 knife attack aboard a London-bound train. Crean sustained cuts to his fingers after grappling with 33-year-old Anthony Williams, who appeared calm and "on a mission" rather than visibly enraged. After wrestling with the armed attacker, Crean managed to retreat into a train toilet to lock the door and dial 999. The trial centers on whether the defendant intended to kill his victims during the multi-incident spree.

Williams, 33, of Langford Road in Peterborough, denies 10 counts of attempted murder, and four other alleged attempted murders in earlier incidents in Peterborough and London.

Jurors have already heard accounts from five people Williams is accused of attempting to murder, on the York to London King's Cross LNER service.

In a video recorded interview played to the court, Crean said he remembered choosing his carriage deliberately "because I knew it wasn't far from the buffet car" and he bought a meal deal for £6.
