In short

The regional crisis has generated over 10,440 confirmed infections and claimed more than 5,370 lives across Africa, with the Democratic Republic of the Congo bearing nearly all fatalities. In an urgent bid to curb further transmission, researchers have deployed the Ervebo vaccine in clinical trials, seeking to determine if its established protection against the Zaire strain extends to this Bundibugyo outbreak.
