JAMMU: J&K police have busted a drone-linked narco-terror network and seized 804 grams of heroin and 1.11 kg of opium from a village in Jammu district’s Arnia sector.

“Preliminary investigation has indicated a cross-border nexus. Inquiry is underway to identify the source of the consignment, its intended recipients, and persons involved in the network,” police said.

The network came to light during the questioning of a 26-year-old man arrested for consuming drugs in RS Pura on Wednesday.

Police said, “The arrested man, Sunny Kumar, a resident of Kotli Mirdian, Suchetgarh, revealed about the smuggling module.”

Earlier on Oct 6, police arrested two people in connection with an alleged drone-dropping case in Arnia. “An Italian-made Beretta pistol, two magazines, four live rounds, 500 grams of heroin, and 500 grams of opium were recovered from their possession,” a police officer said.
