The mass murder took place at Indushekar’s residence in the Srirampura neighborhood after he allegedly bludgeoned his wife to death and disposed of her remains near Nandi Hills. He then invited her brothers for a gathering the next day, using the same grinding stone to murder them, their wives, his mother-in-law, and a seven-year-old child. To destroy evidence, Indushekar utilized chemicals to scrub bloodstains from inside the residence before transporting the bodies elsewhere. The investigation was triggered by a missing-person report, leading to Indushekar's capture and the discovery of the young child's body.

BENGALURU: A prolonged marital dispute, resentment towards his wife's family and alleged humiliation appear to have led to the killing of seven members of a family in Bengaluru's Srirampura locality.
Police suspect that the accused, Indushekar, was angered by his wife Sunita's frequent visits to her parental home and the support she received from her mother and brothers.
Karnataka minister Priyank Kharge said on Friday that the accused had claimed he was humiliated by his wife's family. He also indicated that the killings appeared to have been pre-planned.
"It is a very unfortunate incident and looks like it was pre-planned within the family. The accused claims that he was humiliated by his wife's side," Kharge said, as quoted by news agency ANI.
The couple had been married for around 20 years and frequently quarrelled over Sunita's visits to her parental home, according to preliminary police findings. Attempts by relatives to reconcile them failed to resolve their differences.
Police suspect that the prolonged domestic discord and Indushekar's resentment towards his wife's family may have driven him to target her relatives.
