In short

The benchmark indices recorded aggressive gains, with sectoral advances in financial services and auto stocks surging up to 4% alongside rising broader market indices. Heavy buying was underpinned by crude oil tumbling below $95 per barrel, a strengthening rupee, and net foreign institutional purchases topping Rs 7,284 crore. Investors were further encouraged after United States election results led to the Republican party losing both congressional chambers, sparking hopes for restrained trade tariffs and reduced conflict in the Middle East.
