Digi Yatra starts trials for overseas flights

In short

The extended trial enables travelers with e-passports to navigate airport departure touchpoints using credentials verified via the platform's mobile application. Passengers enroll by scanning their e-passport chip using smartphone NFC capabilities, capturing a selfie, and linking an eligible boarding pass. However, standard border controls remain unchanged, meaning passengers must still carry physical passports and undergo routine immigration checks. Feedback gathered through December 2026 will help shape full-scale international adoption.
