Dense smog across the capital has left citizens suffering from breathing problems and eye irritation as emergency mitigation efforts take effect. Municipal teams mobilized water sprinklers near India Gate under Stage II of the Graded Response Action Plan to combat the airborne particulate matter. Concurrently, regional tensions rose after Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa alleged that 77% of Punjab's stubble had already been burned. Meteorologists anticipate that shallow fog and morning mist will continue to affect the city through November 11.
